Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has accused Ranil Wickramasinghe of revealing details of a secret meeting held recently between him and Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa.

It is reported that a discussion was held at Ranil Wickremesinghe’s residence last week with the participation of Minister Rajitha Senaratne and Premadasa in order to form a broad alliance against the government and the two sides had agreed not to divulge any information in this regard.

However, the SJB alleges that Wickremasinghe has revealed this information to several leading members of the UNP as well as several journalists.

It is reported that Wickremasinghe had elaborated on the steps to be taken to form such an alliance. In addition to the opposition parties, discussions were held on how to get the support of certain parties in the ruling party who are frustrated due to certain actions of the government.

The trio discussed the planned course of action to be taken with regard to political parties joining a common opposition alliance, as well as the recommendations of the Presidential Commission on Political Revenge recently handed over to the President.

It is reported that Wickremesinghe has elaborated on the recommendations of the Commission and the activities of this Commission, including the removal of a number of cases pending in the courts.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has stated that legal action will be taken against the commission.
