Ranil proposes to dilute Gammanpila’s no-confidence motion!

Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has amended the no-confidence motion tabled by Energy Minister Udaya Gammanpila in Parliament this morning (19).

Instead of the Minister of Energy, the entire Cabinet should be entitled. He also suggested that the breach of trust should affect not only the relevant minister but all the ministers as a whole.

It has been rumoured in the political arena that Ranil Wickremesinghe will make such a motion today, and political commentators have called it a move to create a backdrop for the entire government to vote against the motion, preventing divisions within the government during the no-confidence motion.
