Prof. Harini Amarasuriya has been nominated by the National People’s Power (NPP) for the national list seat it obtained at the recently concluded general election. The NPP obtained only one national list seat.
Following discussions with the leadership council of the NPP Amarasuriya a member of the National Intellectuals Organization (NIO), former Secretary of the Federation of University Teachers Associations, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the Open University of Sri Lanka, Member of the Public Consultation Committee on Constitutional Reforms has been nominated to take up the seat.
