A photograph of LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran has been depicted in an election campaign leaflet of a candidate from the Thamil Makkal Thesiya Kootani (TMTK) party.
The party is led by former Chief Minister of the Northern Province C.V Wigneswaran. The candidate is allegedly Suveekran Nishanthan from the TMTK who is contesting from the Batticaloa district.

In the election propaganda leaflet distributed, the photograph on the bottom right shows Nishanthan along with another individual posing under a framed photograph of the slain terror leader Velupillai Prabhakaran. It is unclear if any action has been taken by the authorities in this regard.
