The co-convenor has said that the problem of daily distribution of letters has arisen when there is a huge shortage of junior staff and this problem has had a severe impact on the rural areas.

He also pointed out that since there has been a severe shortage of grade 1 officers, and sub-postmasters for many years, it has not been possible to provide proper service to the customers who come to get the postal service.

Chintaka Bandara further points out that due to the 300 percent and 800 percent increase in the domestic postal fee and the foreign postal fee, consumers are turning to private postal services and further says that the government is deliberately doing such activities to sell the postal department.
