Assistant High Commissioner to India Dr. Athira recently handed over portraits of Indian freedom fighters and poets, provided by ICCR in Sri Lanka, to the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. She handed over them to the Vice Chancellor Prof. R.M.U.S.K. Rathnayake. The portraits were of Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore, Kabir, Premchand & Mahadevi Varma.
They jointly inaugurated K. Jayathilake Memorial Library at the Dept. of Languages Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Hindi books were also donated to the library.
