Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Director General of Health Services, says that the risk of contracting Covid 19 or any other respiratory illness at polling stations and counting centers has been fully eliminated.

Jasinghe also made a special request to all voters to wash their hands thoroughly with soap before entering and leaving the polling booths.
The director-general also advised polls officers to not touch the National Identity Card of the voters and advised the voters to keep it in their hand and assist polls officers to check it.
He also urged the voters to follow the guidelines set as they are designed to minimize contact during the voting process.
