The Authurugiriya Police has arrested a suspect who had attempted to rape a Phillipine woman in Malabe. The incident had taken place on Friday (08) at the woman’s residence in Welivita, Malabe. The man had entered her house and attempted to rape her. The incident had come to light when she was admitted to the Malabe Neville Fernando Hsopital for treatment.
The suspect was presented to the Kaduwela Magistrates court yesterday (09) and has been remanded till August 21. Athurugiriya Police are investigating further.
