“I had discussions with ambassadors and other delegates from a number of friendly countries yesterday and today. The response has been good. But we have to inform those countries of our current situation, discuss further and enter into relevant agreements.

Working with countries like India has already begun. So I think it will take two or three months to complete this work. Then the medium and long term future is likely to turn out well.
So we have started those discussions especially with the International Monetary Fund. But as we are now, we will have difficulties in the next few weeks.

Yesterday and today, especially the economic situation, our fuel situation, the fertilizer situation were all reviewed. In those reviews, it seems that we’re really going to have the hardest time in the next few weeks.” Prime Minister Wickremasinghe further said.
