It is reported that the prison administration has prevented the conduct of future PCR tests after 30 cases of Covid were reported at the Wariyapola Prison.
The sources said that further PCR testing has been suspended after it was confirmed that 30 prison inmates and 10 prison officers were infected with Covid recently.
Nearly 1000 inmates are being held at the Wariyapola Prison. According to health sources, about 90 prison officers are on duty and although they were told to come for PCR tests, they have not turned up yet.
