Health Ministry sources said the Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi has tested positive for Covid 19.
According to reports her husband, Kanchana Jayaratne had been infected with the virus and a PCR test carried out on the Minister had revealed she too had been infected by Covid 19.

A discussion on this situation had been held at the SLPP headoffice in Battaramulla today. The meeting had been chaired by Basil Rajapaksa.
Few weeks ago the Minister was seen drinking the Dhammika Covid syrup in Parliament.
