Out of the 36 people who died due to Covid 19 in Sri Lanka only 5 have died solely due to Covid Army Commander Shavendra Silva has said.

The Army Commander said that the other persons who had died after being infected with Covid were suffering from chronic diseases which resulted in their deaths. He said the post-mortem examination has confirmed this.
Due to this, people who have been treated for chronic diseases should be admitted to the hospital before their condition worsens, he said.
