The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) says that due to a breakdown in two generator systems at the Lak Vijaya Thermal Power Plant in Norochcholai, there will be power cut off for about an hour a day. Board Director and Media Spokesperson Sulakshana Jayawardena said that although the generators were repaired by Friday, it was shut down again yesterday (11).
Due to this situation it is not possible to provide uninterrupted power supply even today and when there is a high demand for about an hour at a time, the power supply can be cut off, said Mr. Jayawardena.
