Former Chairman of SriLankan Airlines, Nishantha Wickramasinghe, has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
According to the Commission, his arrest is linked to an ongoing investigation into the procurement of aircraft during his tenure as the head of the national carrier.
Nishantha Wickramasinghe, who is a brother of Shiranthi Rajapaksa – the wife of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa – served as the Chairman of SriLankan Airlines from 2008 to 2015.
