Nine counselors from the Central province who were employed at the Kandakadu drug rehabilitation center have tested positive for Covid 19. According to the Director of Health Services (Central Province) Arjuna Thilakaratne, the cases have been reported from Matale, Pathadumbara, Menikhinna, Kundasale, Thalathuoya, Gampola, Bambaradeniya, and Hasalaka.
It has been confirmed that the 46-year-old wife and the 90-year-old Grandfather of the Army Major in Kundasale who tested positive for Covid has also contracted the virus.

Currently, 300 people who are associated with the nine counselors from the province have been put in quarantine, Thilakaratne confirmed.
