Niluka lost his first game while swimmer Gaffoor placed 2nd at heats

Sri Lanka representation of Men’s Badminton for Tokyo Olympics, Niluka Karunaratne lost his game today(24) with the competitions of F group. He was defeated by Chinese Taipei player Wang Tzu Wei by 19-8. Niluka Sri Lankan Badminton Champion who was fortunate to take part in his third Olympics sets to face another game on 26th under F group with an Irish player.

Niluka is one of three players who were in action today. Swimmer Aniqah Gaffoor placed 2nd at her first heats at 100m Butterfly stroke women’s event held today (24) evening. However, she was short of the time that would be necessary to qualify for the semi-final.

Tehani Egodawela was fortunate to take part in Tokyo Olympics in the Women’s 10m air rifle event qualification round but unfortunately, she was disqualified for the net round. Her event was at 5.00 a.m. in local time and placed in 49th out of 50 competitors earning 611.5 Points.
