According to SLTDA, there will be no restrictive quarantine required for tourists and no minimum number of days to travel set. The release also said that tourists will be allowed to visit 14 approved tourist sites under the safety of a bio-bubble. Accommodation during the time will only be allowed in hotels certified as ‘Safe and Secure’ Level 1 for up to 14 days of their stay.

The guidelines also detailed that a fee amounting to 40 USD per PCR test will be charged when applying for a visa online. The SLTDA also said no exceptions would be made for vaccinations already taken and that all safety protocols should be adhered to regardless.

The guidelines state that tourists may arrive through Charter Flights, Scheduled Flights or Private Jets, at both Katunayake and Mattala Airports. Special arrangements for the crew would be agreed upon in advance by the Civil Aviation and Airport
