Thirty-two bhikkus of the Badalkumbu Galbada Pirivena in Monaragala and a worker have been quarantined at the Pirivena premises after participating in a religious program attended by a corona infected soldier who worked at the Kandakadu Rehabilitation and Treatment Center.

The quarantine process was carried out after it was revealed that the monks had exchanged microphones with a corona infected soldier during the religious program held at the Pirivena premises.

Currently, the Pirivena premises have been made inaccessible to visitors.

Also, 39 persons who had participated in an alms giving in the Passara area with the participation of this soldier and the Chief Incumbent of the Pirivena have also been quarantined. Accordingly, a total of 72 people are now under quarantine.
