Sources at Temple Trees say that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has decided to stepdown from his post.
According to those sources, Mahinda Rajapaksa will resign, allowing the national consensus government to appoint a Prime Minister.
The sources say that the group led by Mahinda Rajapaksa is planning to make a special statement in Parliament tomorrow (04) and resign and sit in the Opposition with the SLPP MPs.
The sources further say that after the People’s Front takes a seat in the Opposition, it is preparing to show the majority in the Opposition and obtain the post of Leader of the Opposition.
