The two police officers who brought a driver involved in a motor accident in Jaffna to the forensic medical officer to check whether he (the driver) was under the influence of liquor were found to have been inebriated.

Information has also been received that when these two police officers came to meet the forensic medical officer, they were both dressed in police uniforms.

This incident happened when a tipper driver, who was arrested in connection with the death of an elderly person traveling in a three-wheeler after being hit by a tipper truck in the Puttur area, was presented for a forensic examination before the JMO.
