More than 30 inmates of the Bogambara Prison in Kandy have been protesting on the roof since 8.00 am today (17) demanding that they should be sent for PCR tests immediately.
They say that the inmates detained at Bogambara Prison are in a critical condition and that no one is ensuring their health.
According to prison sources there are around 536 inmates being held at Bogambara prison.
“We are being kept in this and no health regulation is being followed …”
“We are human beings too … only our votes are needed by these bosses … as if we have seen death today … by now we do not know whether Kovid has grown up or not. . ”
Everyone inside is in the same pile … waiting for the pile to die ….?
Etc. They shout and say that they will not go down on the roof unless a definite decision is made.
