The Parliamentary council today has ratified the names of those put forward to head Sri Lanka’s independent commissions. Accordingly the following names have been approved as Chairmans for the commissions.
Election Commission – Nimal Punchihewa

Police Commission – Former IGP Chandra Fernando
Bribery Commission – Rtd. Supreme Court Judge Eva Wanasundara
Finance Commission – Sumith Abeysinghe
