Former President Maithripala Sirisena says that he only has a three-acre mango plot from his father as an asset and he does not even own a motorcycle.
He also says that the two sisters are cultivating the five acres of paddy land that they got from their father.
Addressing a press conference yesterday (20), he said that it is a serious challenge to find a compensation amount of ten crores in such a situation.
According to the lawsuit, the former president explained that he had to pay this compensation because the officers he appointed did not fulfill their responsibilities properly due to the responsibility assigned to him as the appointing authority.
