In a major update for South Asia’s entertainment scene, Bollywood icon Hrithik Roshan is set to headline the grand opening of Cinnamon Life – City of Dreams Sri Lanka on August 2, 2025. The high-profile event will mark the official debut of the island’s first luxury integrated resort, a joint venture between John Keells Holdings and Melco Resorts & Entertainment.
Roshan steps in as the special guest after fellow superstar Shah Rukh Khan was forced to cancel his appearance due to health concerns. Initially confirmed to perform at the invite-only red-carpet gala, Khan reportedly suffered an injury while filming intense action scenes for his upcoming movie “King” at Golden Tobacco Studio in Mumbai. According to Bollywood Hungama, he was flown to the United States for urgent medical treatment and has been advised to complete rest.
Despite Khan’s absence, excitement remains high as Hrithik Roshan—renowned for his electrifying performances and global appeal—prepares to take center stage at what promises to be a landmark event for Sri Lanka’s tourism and entertainment sectors.
The City of Dreams Sri Lanka is poised to become a regional game-changer, blending luxury, leisure, and world-class experiences in one destination. Roshan’s participation underscores the project’s star-studded ambition and Sri Lanka’s growing appeal as a premier location for high-end entertainment and international events.
