Police say that the highest number of deaths due to road accidents has been reported yesterday.
Fifteen people were killed in road accidents yesterday, including 08 motorcyclists and 07 pedestrians.

Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that this is a very sad situation and a time when road safety is under serious challenge.
The Police Media Spokesman further stated that attention has been paid to introduced the Demerit marks system for drivers to reduce the increasing number of road accidents.
