The Government has requested all residences, government and private institutions and vehicles to display the National Flag on the occasion of the 73rd Independence Day. The Ministry of Defence, Home Affairs and Disaster Management stated that the national flag should be displayed during the week from February 01 to 07.
The Government also requests the Heads of all Government Institutions to decorate their buildings with electric lights on the 3rd and 4th of this month. The 73rd Independence Day celebrations under the theme ‘A Prosperous Tomorrow – A Prosperous Motherland’ will be held on the 4th of this month at the Independence Square under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
