Gov to foot Rs. 2.8 Million bill to clear rubble left from Buwelikada house collapse

Steps have been taken to pay Rs. 2.8 million from the National Treasury to remove the rubble of the collapsed building in Buwelikada, Kandy.

The amount has been approved by the Ministry of Finance and the Municipal Council will remove the debris accordingly.

Chandana Tennakoon, who was serving as the Kandy Municipal Commissioner, has been appointed as the Kandy District Secretary. 

Kandy Municipal Council sources told Lankasara that the removal of the rubble will begin as soon as a new Municipal Commissioner is appointed.
