“Gota Go Home” roars again in front of the UN HQ Geneva

Sri Lankans staged a protest this afternoon (27) in front of the UN head office in Geneva,Switzerland. The mass protest was organized by Sri Lankan students living in Germany.

They gathered near to the landmark Broken Chair statue of Geneva and held a peaceful protest for three hours from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm today.  Sri Lankan expats  extended their solidarity with the wave of protests in Sri Lankan society  demanding the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to step down and defeating the corrupt regime and creating a new political tradition.

They shouted slogans demanding United Nations to hear the grievances of Sri Lanka and to protect the democracy in the country.They too voiced against rising commodity prices as well as for uplift the law and order in Sri lanka.
The Sri Lankans brought a glamour to the demonstrations with shouting slogans in different languages, Lankasara reporter in Geneva has witnessed.
