Global Vision Foundation donates nutrition packs to 500 low-income pregnant women in Suriyawewa

Global Vision Foundation kicked off its CSR project to donate nutrition packs to 2,000 pregnant women from low-income families in Hambantota District recently by donating 500 nutrition packs to pregnant women from low-income families in Suriyawewa. The donation took place at the Suriyawewa Town Hall.

Chairman of the Global Vision Foundation (Sunil Gamage Foundation) and Consulate General of Sri Lanka in Japan, Mr. Sunil Gamage organized the event. Mr. Tetsuro Yoshida, Chairman of Tex Technology Incorporation funded the CSR activity. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Matsushita Shinpei, a former Japanese Minister and current Parliamentarian. A number of civil servants as well as executives of the Japanese Embassy were also present during the donation.

The CSR project is being carried out to eradicate poverty in Hambantota District, and to enhance the nutrition levels of pregnant women and children in the district. Global Vision Foundation plans to implement a number of other projects to achieve this objective and a number of top Japanese businesses have already agreed to support these initiatives.
