Fuel Prices to Increase from Midnight

Effective from midnight (31) the Ceylon Petroleum Statutory Corporation has made adjustments to fuel prices, reflecting changes in the market.

The new rates are as follows:

– A liter of 92 octane petrol has seen an increase of 13 rupees, bringing the new price to Rs 361.
– Octane 95 petrol has risen by Rs 42, with the new price now at Rs 417.
– Auto diesel prices have surged by Rs 35, resulting in a new price of Rs 341.
– Super diesel, too, has witnessed a rise in price, now standing at Rs 359.
– Crude oil has experienced an increase as well, with the new price at Rs 231.

These adjustments have been outlined in the official notification provided.

Interestingly, while the Ceylon Petroleum Statutory Corporation is implementing these price revisions, the newly established Sinopec, which commenced operations Wednesday (30) , is offering fuel at a rate that is 03 rupees lower than the current market price, aligning with the prevailing fuel prices.
