Four persons fined for stepping on grass in Horton Plains

Four people have been fined for damaging sensitive grasslands in the Horton Plains National Park. Nuwara Eliya Magistrate Pamoda Jayasekara, therefore, had imposed a fine of Rs. 80,000 on the suspects. Accordingly, each person has to pay a fine of Rs. 20,000.

The group had reportedly entered sensitive grasslands in the park, trampled them, taken photos and videos, and had behaved in a damaging manner.
