Flight carrying Covid vaccine from India lands in Katunayake

A plane carrying stocks of the Covishield corona vaccine has arrived in the island. Senior Advisor to the President, Lalith Weeratunga said from January 29 on wards steps will be taken to provide the vaccine to around 300 000 health sector workers as well as Army and Police officers who are actively contributing to the corona eradication program.

India is providing this first stock of vaccines produced by the Serum Institute as a grant to Sri Lanka.
