A woman who was admitted to the Vavuniya General Hospital after contracting Covid 19 has died after being admitted to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital last evening (26).

She had previously been admitted to the Vavuniya General Hospital due to another illness and was receiving treatment when a PCR test conducted on her revealed she had been infected with Covid 19.
According to the authorities the woman is a resident of Periya Ulukkulama, Vavuniya. Officials have not been able to trace the source that infected the woman and her body has been taken to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital for a PCR examination. Travel restrictions have been imposed on the area where the woman lived.
