The report was received by Sri Lanka’s political authorities while discussions are underway regarding the Chinese organic fertilizer ship and how to intervene in the ongoing court proceedings.

When Lankasara inquired about this document from the Director General of Agriculture, Dr. Ajantha de Silva, he stated that he was not yet aware of the document and had no idea how it would be implemented.

The Director General of Agriculture assured the country that he would not sign any document that would be prejudicial to the country under any circumstances. He also said.

“The court will decide how to pay for Chinese fertilizer. This Attorney General’s Department is not aware of the document. No matter what country the fertilizer is imported from, only the rules and regulations of the Plant Quarantine Center and the rules and regulations of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution are still in force. ”

“All those rules and regulations were passed through the Acts of Parliament. I have the power only to comply with the applicable rules and regulations. No matter who prepares the documents, it is my responsibility to decide scientifically whether they are suitable for the country or not, ”he said.
