Editor of Ravana Lanka News Website Arrested for Alleged Propaganda Offenses

G.P. Nissanka, the editor of the Ravana Lanka News website, was arrested by the CID last night (05) on charges related to spreading propaganda that allegedly harms national security and public safety.

The arrest took place around 10:45 PM at Nissanka’s residence in Magaya, Ambavila, Pallebadda. Following his arrest, Nissanka presented himself at the Computer Crime Division in Colombo this morning (06), seeking permission to address the charges. However, officials informed him that they could not provide him with the opportunity to do so.

Nissanka is scheduled to be produced in court today (06), where he will be represented by lawyer Amila Egodamahawatta.
