The police say that they are not issuing quarantine curfew permits to any person or institution during the lockdown. Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that the Director-General of Health Services has issued clear orders regarding eligible groups and individuals who can travel on the road during the curfew period, he stated.

Many OICs have stated that various persons are now coming to the police stations requesting curfew permits from the police stating that they are essential services and that it has become a nuisance to the police stations.
