Dambana Adivasi Village Temporarily Closed Down

It has been decided to close off the Dambana Adivasi Village for tourists and the public due to the second wave of the Covid 19 outbreak in Sri Lanka. The decision has been taken by the leader of the indegenous community, Uru Warige Wannila Attho in order to safeguard the community from Covid 19. 

According to Wannila Attho he was forced to take the decision as the area does not have adequate health facilities if the disease spreads within the community. He said therefore visitors will not be allowed to enter Dambana till the situation in the country turns for the better. “People forgot about the disease when it was somewhat controlled” he said adding that due to the worsesning situation he has had to take the decision to stop visitors from entering the village.
