It is reported that crowds are gathering from the morning at the IDH and MOH offices in surrounding areas to receive the Covid 19 vaccine.
On February 15 Head of the National Operations Center for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak and Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said that the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine imported from India will be administered to the general public on the instructions of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

Accordingly, the Army Commander the vaccine will be rolled out starting from the Western Province to the residents of the Western Province who are identified as at high risk of contracting COVID-19.
