The recently installed brightly lit “X” sign on the San Francisco headquarters of the company formerly known as Twitter has been removed just days after its installation. The San Francisco Department of Building Inspections received 24 complaints about the unauthorized structure over the weekend. Concerns raised in the complaints included issues related to its structural safety and lighting.
Elon Musk’s company, now renamed X, had removed the Twitter sign and iconic blue bird logo from the building last week. However, the work was temporarily halted as the company did not have the required permits for the installation. The removal of the “er” at the end of “Twitter” was stopped abruptly.
As a result of the complaints, the city of San Francisco has initiated an investigation into the giant “X” sign and opened a complaint regarding the unauthorized structure.
