Former LTTE leader and Former Minister Vinayagamoorthy Muralidaran alias Karuna Amman was questioned today (25) by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over a statement made by him about killing 2000 – 3000 Army soldiers.

Karuna had come to the CID around 11 am today from his residence in Colombo.  While he had been informed to appear before the CID on Tuesday (23) he had refused to do so claiming he was ill.

The CID had then gone to Batticaloa and questioned those who organized the meeting attended by Karuna and others who took part in it. The CID also obtained unedited footage of the event from television channels.
