The leader of the National People’s Power (NPP) party, Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the Canadian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Eric Walsh, had a meeting today (13). The meeting occurred at the main office of the NPP and was attended by Patrick Pickering, Second Secretary (Political) of the Canadian High Commission, and Vijitha Herath, National Executive Member for the NPP.
During the meeting, extensive discussions were held regarding the current socio-economic and political landscape in Sri Lanka. Both parties exchanged views on the plans of the NPP for fostering national unity and addressing key issues facing the country.
The High Commissioner took the opportunity to extend his congratulations to Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his forthcoming visit to Canada, where he will meet with Sri Lankans residing in the country. This visit underscores the importance of engaging with the Sri Lankan diaspora and fostering closer ties between Sri Lanka and Canada.
