‘Bossa’ responsible for Mahara prison unrest identified

It has been revealed that the riot at the Mahara Prison was initiated by an inmate named ‘Bossa’ who was imprisoned in connection with a double murder. According to sources investigators are now looking at his actions on the day which they believe led to the unrest in the prison. 

Investigations have revealed that the inmate, nicknamed ‘Bossa’, had come with another group and had apprehended two workers who were working at the hospital’s pharmacy at the time, had presented a list of drugs and had taken the drugs by force.

The Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has launched an investigation into the incident. It has been revealed that after taking the drugs, they had gone to the Superintendent of Prisons’ office and found two old swords which were artifacts and started a brawl.Police sources further told Lankasara that further investigations are being carried out into the drugs taken by the detainees 

It has also been revealed that they had protested asking for treatment of those infected with the Covid 19 virus and the need for PCR tests.
