The National Blood Transfusion Service has requested for blood donations due to an acute shortage being faced in the country. According to the service the shortage has been caused due to the lack of blood donation drives caused due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
The Service has not been able to hold blood donation drives in the Western province due to the curfew imposed which has also affected the possibility of holding drives in other areas in the country. Therefore the service has requested the public to come forward to donate blood.
