The Apeksha hospital has failed to dispense the required medicine to one in three cancer patients who are engaged in a battle for survival.
Informed sources indicate that one-third of the destitute patients who do not receive medicine go home empty-handed every day.
Apeksha Hospital also says that the vast majority of these people, who are in a serious condition, are being forced to die since they do not have the financial strength to spend money and get medicine.
Hospital staff say that due to the acute shortage of medicines, they have been requesting medicine from donors for several months, and the day the donors stop donating medicines, the hospital will be unable to treat any patient.
“This is a great tragedy… When we receive medicines from the donors, we hand it down to the patients who are waiting for treatment. But those medicines are not enough. Most of the patients leave empty-handed… Only a handful of people who can spend money and buy medicine outside have the chance to live a day longer.
