A student who went to a house near the Dharmapala College grounds in Arawwala to pick up a ball has been shot by a doctor living in that house and the student has been injured.
The child was shot in the leg with an air rifle and has been admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital. A 46-year-old doctor attached to the Maharagama Apeksha Hospital has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

It is said that the doctor who lives in the vicinity of the school was annoyed that students would come into his garden to pick up balls while playing in the school ground.
