A 79 year old woman has succumbed to Covid 19 marking the 24th death in the country due to the virus. The deceased was a resident of Colombo 13. According to the government information department the woman had passed away at home yesterday (03). It was identified she was positive for Covid 19 during the post mortem.
The department said the victim had been ill for over a month and also had a number of underlying illnesses. The cause of death has been identified as a heart attack due to the Covid 19 virus.
