All politicos should act as true statesmen – BASL urges

All politicians should act as statesmen to avert the economic and political crisis President of Bar Association of Sri Lanka Saliya Pieris told today. Addressing a press conference President Counsel Pieris further said  that all politicians should come together to work out a solution to restore political stability  and economic situation  in the Country.

“The economic crisis is dire. We believe this is the time for politicians to act as statesmen,” he said.

Commenting on the proposal prepared for the revival of the country by the BASL he said that it was already handed over to the Mahanayake theras, the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and the YMBA.

Mr. Pieris said they expect to discuss these proposals with the political authority within the next few days.
