AKD says willing to work with Frontline Socialists

Leader of the leftist Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, Anura Kumara Dissanayake today said his party is willing to work with the Frontline Socialist Party to ensure democracy prevails in Sri Lanka. 

Attending a program on a local television channel said the JVP will welcome the Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) if it wishes to be part of a common movement to protect the rights of the country’s people. Accordingly, Dissanayake said he accepts the invitation extended by the leader of the FSP Kumar Gunaratnam recently.

“Our main aim was to form a common movement to secure victory in these struggles and that is why we formed the National People’s Power (NPP) movement”, he said adding that even those who opposed the JVP in idealogy have joined the movement.
