Airman Survives Parachute Accident During Sri Lanka Air Force Event in Jaffna

During a parachute show conducted by a group of airmen from the Sri Lanka Air Force in Jaffna yesterday (06), an airman miraculously survived a potentially fatal parachute accident.

As part of the series of events organized to mark the completion of 73 years of the Air Force, one of the highlights was the landing of airmen using parachutes.

However, an accident occurred during one airman’s descent. While landing with his parachute, strong winds caused the parachute to drift away, leading the airman to land on the roof of a building. Fortunately, before reaching the roof, the parachute became entangled with a nearby pole, preventing a direct impact and potentially saving the airman from serious injury.

Remarkably, the airman emerged from the incident unharmed, despite the close call.
