The Sri Jayawardenapura general hospital has commenced PCR testing for members of public seeking the service. According to hospital sources a PCR test costs Rs. 5000 at the hospital in order to make it affordable to the public.
Once an individual is referred for PCR testing, his/her details will be recorded and the samples will be taken for analysis in a secure manner. The test results will be released the next day and will be issued in strict compliance to government regulations imposed to protect the privacy of the individual. Individuals aren’t required to make an appointment prior to a PCR test.
